Job summary

V.Group in Glasgow seeks an Engineering Manager to bring in-house engineering oversight and lead a growing team across multiple squads. You will manage engineers, oversee delivery quality, and collaborate with offshore partners to scale the engineering function.

The role requires strong technical credibility, coaching, and experience with distributed teams across time zones. Glasgow-based, with three days per week onsite and occasional travel to other sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading software delivery teams.
• Experience managing with outsourced/offshore development partners.
• Strong coaching and performance management skills.
• Familiarity with agile at scale and cloud-native delivery.

Responsibilities

• Line-manage and develop engineers across squads, building in-house capability.
• Own onboarding, performance management and career development.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership and wellbeing.
• Provide oversight of engineering output and quality across squads.
