Job summary

Deliveroo is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Codeless Server-Driven UI platform. You will bridge mobile/web frontend engineering with core backend systems, enabling dynamic UI from the backend and accelerating feature iteration across iOS, Android, and Web.

The role requires 3+ years in engineering management, a strong UI/platform background, and a product-minded approach to developer velocity and platform adoption.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams and delivering platform initiatives.
• Strong background in mobile (iOS/Android) or modern web architecture (React, SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, or declarative UI paradigms).
• Ability to treat internal product engineering teams as customers, evaluating platform success via velocity, adoption, and rendering performance.

Responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and scale an engineering team responsible for the Server-Driven UI platform (Codeless).
• Oversee design and evolution of dynamic layout engines, declarative UI schemas, and client rendering frameworks across iOS, Android, and Web.
• Partner with product feature teams to drive platform adoption and ensure excellent developer experience, tooling, and design system integration.
• Set high technical standards for performance, caching, offline/fallback behavior, and cross-platform compatibility.
• Collaborate with Product, Design System, and Core Infrastructure to align the Codeless roadmap with company initiatives.
