Job summary

Wayve is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Runtime Platform team in London. You’ll lead a small team responsible for on-vehicle frameworks, IPC, performance, and observability foundations, driving fast iteration with robust CI/HIL gates.

You’ll coach engineers, shape the roadmap, hire and retain talent, and collaborate with Vehicle Software, hardware, and OEM programs to deliver reliable, low-latency embedded software for real vehicles. This role is hybrid in London.

Qualifications

• Engineering management experience essential with a track record of leading software/systems teams.
• Delivery-focused: able to own roadmaps, resourcing, and quality via a team.
• Technical credibility in embedded software shipped to customers (C++).
• Strong understanding of profiling, latency, real-time scheduling on embedded Linux (QNX preferred).
• IPC/middleware knowledge for high-throughput real-time or robotics systems.
• Cross-functional leadership across multiple stakeholder teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Runtime Platform team; recruit, coach, and develop engineers.
• Own the team's roadmap, align programs with company goals, and ensure delivery.
• Set technical direction and ownership of the technology roadmap milestones.
• Own runtime foundations: system design, middleware, performance, and observability.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Software, hardware, and OEM programs; unblock risks.
• Maintain CI, HIL, and quality gates to enable fast iteration.
