Job summary

National Gas seeks a senior leader to provide specialist engineering policy, asset management and second-line support for rotating machinery, compressor controls and instrumentation assets within the National Transmission System. You will ensure standards, governance and assurance activities are embedded into delivery and BAU to maintain safe, reliable operation across England and Scotland.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of gas transmission operations and rotating machinery.
• Experience in asset management in high-hazard environments.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering codes, standards and regulatory expectations.
• Ability to lead policy and work procedure ownership across rotating machinery and control.
• Experience working with OEMs, regulators and delivery partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide Engineering & Asset Management services for rotating machinery and control assets, including second-line support and investment/ project support.
• Define and manage third-party scope with clear governance and contracts.
• Establish reporting and performance management for asset management services, including SLAs and escalation routes.
• Lead change programmes affecting compressor assets, control systems, remote monitoring and data integration.
• Coordinate budgeting, phasing and governance for Opex/Capex investments.
• Oversee OEM service bulletins, safety screening and evidence-based action closure.
