Job summary

Centrica plc is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the Mechanical Technical Authority across Centrica Gas Infrastructure assets in the UK. The role combines technical governance, assurance and discipline support with travel to onshore and offshore sites.

You will provide mechanical engineering judgement, lead or support audits, and contribute to risk assessments such as HAZOP/LOPA while ensuring compliance with Centrica standards.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated with minimal supervision
• Strong understanding of risk management and governance in major hazard environments
• Ability to translate directives into delivery across multiple teams

Responsibilities

• Ensure technical compliance within the Mechanical Engineering discipline across Centrica Gas Infrastructure assets.
• Provide mechanical engineering support to operations, maintenance and projects to enable safe and efficient asset performance.
• Provide input to projects including specifications, design reviews, vendor documentation reviews, commissioning support and handover assurance.
• Support the Management of Change process by assessing mechanical engineering impact of changes.
• Prepare and maintain mechanical engineering standards, procedures and policies in line with legislation and Centrica requirements.
• Act as lead auditor for internal and external audits and track actions to closure.
