Job summary

TrustFlight seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a 6–8 engineer team, coaching each member and maintaining high performance standards. You will own the team’s testing, tooling, and infrastructure while partnering with product and design leads to enable rapid, safe delivery.

The role focuses on people management challenges, performance management, and process improvements across the engineering organization, including AI-driven development practices.

Qualifications

• At least three years' experience as a dedicated people manager of software engineers.
• Software engineering background able to contribute credibly in design reviews and architectural decisions.
• Current familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD and automated testing (Terraform, Pulumi or equivalent).
• Track record of raising and maintaining a quality bar across a team (testing, reviews, discipline).
• Experience leading or contributing to technology-stack consolidation across teams.

Responsibilities

• Raise the performance bar with every hire and promotion; coach engineers through 1:1s, feedback, stretch assignments, and development plans.
• Manage performance fairly and decisively; set explicit expectations and address underperformance.
• Unblock the team across tooling, infrastructure, testing and process; own the infrastructure-as-code estate.
• Own testing standards and release criteria to ensure consistent quality.
• Architect cross-team developer tooling and consolidate technology estate with peer Engineering Managers and the Director of Engineering.
• Lead AI-assisted development adoption with standards, governance and risk controls.
• Maintain consistent engineering practices across TrustFlight with other Engineering Managers.
