Referment in London is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Banking and FX team, owning delivery, OKRs and the security posture of production services. You will guide six to eight engineers, mentor the team, review designs and drive alignment with product, design and stakeholders in a regulated money-movement setting.

You’ll balance hands-on guidance with strategic leadership, ensure compliant changes with risk teams, and shape AI usage in coding. The role is hybrid and based in London.

Formación

• Experience leading and managing engineers, including hiring and performance conversations.
• Strong C#, Azure and SQL with ability to review design and assess risk.
• Delivered in production for business-critical services.
• Comfort with asynchronous, event-driven systems and their failure modes.
• Product-minded, able to explain why a piece of work matters to a client without relying on a roadmap.
• Real experience building software with AI, not just interest.
• Background in regulated work with evidence behind changes.

Responsabilidades

• Own delivery and OKRs for the team: forecast it, sequence it, and flag slips early.
• Collaborate with product, design and stakeholders to turn client problems into shipped software.
• Drop ceremony: keep agility, use small changes and fast feedback.
• Lead six to eight engineers, manage one-to-ones, progression and hiring.
• Set a high bar and mentor through feedback and code review.
• Define technical direction and document decisions for teams.
• Maintain quality, testing standards, and security posture; run production services.
• Work with compliance and risk to ensure money-movement changes have evidence.
• Decide how the team uses AI and where it helps or creates risk.
