Job summary

Avara Foods Ltd is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering function at the Hollybank site in Scropton, Derbyshire. The role is on-site five days per week, combining strong technical leadership with people development and strategic site objectives.

You will drive maintenance, reliability, capital projects and continuous improvement, ensuring safety, asset availability and cost discipline while shaping an high-performing engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Proven engineering leadership in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Qualification in Engineering (HND/HNC or higher) with strong technical background.
• Experience with maintenance, reliability improvement and asset management strategies.
• Experience delivering engineering improvements and capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Engineering function with clear direction, coaching and development of the team.
• Contribute to site strategy as part of the Site Leadership Team.
• Develop and deliver the Engineering strategy to support site KPIs and growth.
• Drive proactive maintenance programmes to improve asset reliability.
• Oversee budgets for repairs, maintenance, contractors and capex.
• Own CMMS processes and engineering systems to support performance and compliance.
• Ensure safety standards for colleagues and contractors are upheld.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analyses.
