Job summary

Straight Forward Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for a Brandon manufacturing operation. This hands-on leadership role oversees engineering, maintenance, reliability and site facilities, and includes responsibility for the Engineering & Maintenance team and external contractors.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, hands-on and commercially aware approach.
• Experience managing both planned and reactive maintenance.
• Experience leading and developing an engineering team.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge.
• Experience with motors, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics or hydraulics.
• Experience with PLC/control systems, automation, packaging machinery, FMCG, fabrication/welding, CMMS or CapEx projects would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing the Engineering & Maintenance team and external contractors.
• Managing and improving the PPM and planned maintenance programme.
• Leading breakdown response, fault finding and root-cause analysis.
• Maintaining mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
• Driving improvements in equipment reliability and production uptime.
• Managing engineering projects, installations and commissioning.
• Managing contractors, suppliers, critical spares and maintenance budgets.
• Taking responsibility for site facilities, infrastructure and statutory compliance.
• Monitoring engineering KPIs including downtime, reliability, PPM and maintenance costs.
• Working closely with Production, Operations and Quality to improve overall site performance.
