Job summary

Valvitalia is seeking an Engineering Manager in Hull, East Yorkshire to lead the Design and Technical Engineering teams through the full lifecycle from specification to delivery for customers worldwide.

You will ensure compliance with ISO, PED, ASME, ATEX and API, drive product quality and efficiency, and mentor graduates and apprentices while collaborating with cross-functional teams including foundry, machining, assembly and testing.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership, people-management and technical capabilities.
• Knowledge of valves or similar engineered products.
• Collaborative and results-focused management style, with the ability to develop people and drive performance.
• Proven experience managing complex workloads and delivering against customer requirements without compromising quality.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, suppliers and customers.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, DFMA, safety and HSE principles.
• Proficiency in CAD, Autodesk Inventor, CFD and other relevant engineering tools.
• Experience within an engineering or make-to-order manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Managing the Design and Technical Engineering team, providing the product designs and technical data required by manufacturing operations.
• Overseeing the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from order acceptance through to delivery, while meeting technical specifications and customer requirements.
• Responding to technical queries from internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Supporting production areas by troubleshooting issues and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Ensuring products comply with ISO, PED, ASME, ATEX and API standards.
• Contributing to R&D initiatives in collaboration with the corporate strategy and innovation teams.
• Collaborating with senior management and providing regular updates to the General Manager and Director.
