Hoist Finance in Manchester Hybrid is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Software Engineering team.

You will manage Front/Backend Developers and Testers, modernise applications in Microsoft Azure, drive AI tooling adoption, and ensure delivery of scalable digital platforms.

The role combines people leadership with technical oversight, coordinating with IT Ops and Data teams to deliver high-quality software through CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading Software Engineering teams.
• Hands-on engineering background combined with people leadership.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and .NET technologies.
• Experience implementing DevOps and CI/CD in production.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of developers and testers.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of software initiatives within the Azure estate.
• Drive modernisation of legacy applications and adoption of AI tooling.
• Collaborate with IT Ops, Change Management, Cyber, and Data Teams.
• Promote best practices in architecture, code quality, and testing.
• Lead sprints and production deployments.
