Job summary

Our Future Health Limited is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a squad delivering critical healthcare data capabilities at scale. You will combine technical leadership with people management, guiding architectural discussions around data platforms and models such as OMOP and FHIR.

The role focuses on shaping a high‑performing, inclusive team culture within a charity‑backed health research program. You may work remotely from anywhere in the UK with occasional travel to London.

Qualifications

• Experience leading cross‑functional software or data engineering teams.
• People leadership with teams and delivery responsibility.
• Experience building or scaling teams, processes and ways of working.
• Strong engineering background to provide technical leadership in hands‑off role.
• Understanding of healthcare data standards and data models such as OMOP, FHIR.

Responsibilities

• Lead an engineering squad to enable high performance and delivery excellence.
• Coach and develop engineers through mentorship and career support.
• Drive roadmap delivery, manage risks and align stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership for data‑focused initiatives (OMOP/FHIR).
• Collaborate with Product, Data and Tech teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Facilitate technical discussions and navigate priorities and trade‑offs.
• Promote engineering best practices and Agile ways of working.
• Oversee technical decisions balancing delivery pace, quality and debt.
• Support operational excellence through incident management and governance.
• Communicate progress and risks to senior stakeholders.
