Job summary

ATA Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Engineering Manager in Cornwall to lead engineering and maintenance across a critical area of the site. You will drive performance, develop the team and ensure readiness to deliver production targets with reliable, efficient equipment.

You will manage a large engineering workforce, champion continuous improvement, and spearhead technical upskilling while prioritising safety and compliance in a major food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Engineering Manager or Maintenance Manager in manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
• Experience leading large teams and driving culture change.
• Track record of improving reliability, OEE and production efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and maintenance activities across a key area of the factory.
• Develop and coach engineers and team leaders.
• Drive fault-finding, problem-solving and maintenance capability.
• Improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime and maximise OEE.
• Support faster product changeovers and reduce production disruption.
• Deliver continuous improvement initiatives using root cause analysis.
• Maintain health and safety, compliance and audit readiness.
