Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc is seeking an Engineering Manager for Electrical Infrastructure in Derby, to lead as the Infrastructure Design Authority and deliver large-scale electrical systems for the AUKUS program. You will ensure safe operation of electrical facilities on the Raynesway site and drive design assurance across nuclear and conventional facilities.

The role requires a degree in electrical engineering, UK experience in relevant facilities, familiarity with Euro Codes/BS Standards, and leadership

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (UK).
  • Experience designing, constructing and operating nuclear and conventional facilities and infrastructure in the UK.
  • Familiarity with Euro Codes, British Standards and relevant Codes of Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Define Engineering standards, Quality Control and Quality Assurance for nuclear and conventional facility projects.
  • Incorporate client, Rolls‑Royce and regulatory requirements into design and modifications of facilities and infrastructure.
  • Provide design, modification and build assurance of Electrical Infrastructure engineering for new projects.
  • Set Electrical Asset Management Strategy/Plan and assure maintenance, testing and inspection of Electrical Assets.
  • Act as Responsible Person (Electrical) and Senior Authorised Person for High‑Voltage Switchgear (1kV–36kV).

Working Pattern: 37 hours, 5 days a week. Working Location: Derby.

Overview

Join Rolls‑Royce as an Engineering Manager – Electrical Infrastructure and lead as the Infrastructure Design Authority, playing a key part in delivering large‑scale physical infrastructure to support the AUKUS submarine program. You will provide intelligent customer capability for all matters relating to Electrical Infrastructure across conventional and nuclear facilities, and ensure safe operation of all Electrical facilities on the Raynesway site.

What you will be doing
  • Carry out the role of Electrical Infrastructure Design Authority, defining Engineering standards, Quality Control, Quality Assurance for nuclear and conventional facility projects.
  • Assure that Rolls‑Royce, client and regulatory requirements are incorporated into design and modification of facilities and infrastructure.
  • Provide design, modification and build assurance of Electrical Infrastructure engineering for all new Infrastructure projects.
  • Set the Electrical Asset Management Strategy/Plan and assure maintenance, testing and inspection of all Electrical Assets.
  • Serve as the Responsible Person (Electrical) and Senior Authorised Person for High‑Voltage Switchgear (1kV to 36kV).
Who we’re looking for
  • A Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in the design, construction and operation of nuclear and conventional facilities and infrastructure within the UK.
  • Familiarity with latest related Euro Codes, British Standards, Codes of Practice and Guidance Documents.
  • Experience undertaking SAP(E) duties for High‑Voltage Switchgear 1kV–36kV.
  • Ability to influence at all levels and build strong relationships.
  • People‑leadership and change‑management experience.
  • Desirable: Experience of Controls & Instrumentation in an infrastructure environment.
