Job summary

TXM Recruit is helping an established Milton Keynes engineering organisation recruit an Engineering Manager - Design & Analysis. The role combines technical leadership with responsibility for people, processes and resource planning across engines, electric motors, hybrid powertrains and electrical systems.

You will lead Design and Simulation Engineers, own the Design and Analysis processes and guide projects from concept to delivery, while developing your leadership, strategic and commercial

Qualifications

• A degree in an engineering discipline.
• Strong product-development experience within the automotive industry.
• Background in Design Engineering, Engineering Analysis or Simulation.
• Experience leading, mentoring or coordinating engineers.
• Confident in making and influencing technical decisions.
• Experience managing engineering projects, priorities and resources.
• Good understanding of engineering processes and product-development lifecycles.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and senior stakeholders.
• Interest in the commercial aspects of engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop teams of Design and Simulation Engineers.
• Own the Design and Analysis engineering processes.
• Oversee engineering activity across the product lifecycle.
• Coordinate engineering resources across multiple projects.
• Work with Chief Engineers to develop robust technical solutions.
• Coach and develop engineers through mentoring and planning.
• Ensure programmes have access to the right engineering capabilities.
• Lead technical projects where required.
• Improve engineering processes, systems and ways of working.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost, complexity and waste.
• Support the Engineering Director with departmental priorities and planning.
