Job summary

Morela is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its Glasgow engineering delivery centre. You will transform a team of early-career developers into a high-performing unit, delivering Enterprise SaaS platforms with strong throughput and quality. Two Project Managers report to you, and you will scale the team as cohorts join.

The role is based in Glasgow five days a week, with hands-on leadership and a focus on engineering excellence, throughput, and career development for junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Requires proven track record of directly managing development or engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, coding standards, reviews and QA practices.
• Experience coaching junior or graduate engineers into productive team members.
• Ability to drive throughput, quality and measurable improvements across delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own developer throughput and flow, removing blockers and building predictable cadence.
• Drive engineering quality and defect reduction across all shipped work.
• Define and embed development standards and the SDLC, from ticket to production.
• Establish peer review and QA practices to raise quality.
• Lead and manage two Project Managers to align delivery.
