About the role:

We are looking for a self-motivated, solution-oriented, and experienced Engineering Manager (m/f/d) with a focus on Application Development to join our Affinidi Elements team.

In this role, you will collaborate with global teams across product, design, infrastructure, architecture, and engineering to enhance and develop consumer-facing applications. Your expertise in designing, architecting, and building quality systems will be vital, alongside your leadership in fostering a high-performing team culture and developing team members. This position reports to the Senior Engineering Manager.

What’s in it for you:

• Lead the engineering team to develop features and improvements to the Affinidi Elements product, primarily using Dart/Flutter, ensuring security, testing, and performance.
• Collaborate with peers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders to build the product and technology roadmap.
• Own the delivery of complex features with minimal guidance, working with cross-functional teams on larger projects.
• Advocate for enhancements in product quality, security, and performance.
• Guide the team in crafting maintainable, high-quality code that meets internal standards and best practices for large-scale systems.
• Lead by example, coaching and mentoring engineers for professional growth.
• Create a diverse, collaborative, transparent culture where everyone’s ideas are valued.

You will be a great match if you:

• Have at least 10 years of overall experience.
• Have strong experience with SDK design, lifecycle, versioning, documentation, and onboarding.
• Maintain and contribute to open-source SDKs, engaging with the community.
• Are proficient in Dart/Flutter and familiar with its ecosystem, including state management and asynchronous programming.
• Have experience with multi-platform development using Flutter for web, mobile, and desktop.
• Have native mobile development experience on at least one platform (iOS or Android).
• Are experienced in diagnosing and preventing performance issues.
• Have led teams delivering production-quality products according to industry standards.
• Possess strong technical documentation skills, including the C4 Model and ADRs.
• Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or React is advantageous.
• Have expertise in cloud computing, preferably AWS serverless.
• Care about privacy by design, security, testing, and high-performance systems.
• Enjoy leading in a fast-paced, autonomous, experimental startup environment.
