Job summary

Engineering Manager role based in Yeadon/Otley, UK. You will lead the maintenance and engineering teams across the site, directing engineering projects, infrastructure development and strategic investment planning to maximise asset performance and reliability.

Reporting to the MD, you will manage maintenance planning, 24/7 coverage, recruitment and training, and ensure preventive/predictive maintenance schedules are implemented via CMMS, while driving cost reduction and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent with management experience.
• Experience in continuous flow manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Familiar with reliability strategies and condition monitoring (vibration, ultrasonics, infrared).
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the maintenance and engineering team, including recruitment, training and scheduling for a 24/7 site.
• Develop and implement maintenance planning and scheduling, preventive and predictive maintenance, and CMMS focus.
• Oversee engineering projects, infrastructure development and strategic investment planning.

Engineering Manager

Location Yeadon / Otley

Hours Mon - Friday daytime

A great opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join a company during a period a growth, investment and modernisation. Responsible for engineering, maintenance, facilities, utilities and capital project activities across the site.

As a member of the senior management team, the Engineering Manager will develop and execute engineering strategies that maximise asset performance, improve reliability, reduce costs.

The Job:

• Reporting into the MD, direct reports will be Maintenance Supervisors, Engineering Planner Project Engineers, Maintenance Engineers.
• The role will combine leadership of the maintenance function with responsibility for engineering projects, infrastructure development and strategic investment planning.
• Team Management: Lead and manage the maintenance and engineering team, Including recruitment, training, and scheduling on a 24/7 site. Support and mentor the team and set the culture.
• Maintenance planning and scheduling: Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, ensuring timely repairs and upkeep of facilities, equipment, and machinery to optimise availability. Be CMMS focused through out.

The Person:

• Degree or HNC in Engineering plus maintenance and engineering management experience.
• Experience of continuous flow manufacturing preferred as well as continuous improvement.
• Experience of various reliability strategies and condition monitoring techniques such as vibration, ultrasonics, infrared etc.
• Good communication, stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills important.
