Are you an experienced Engineering Manager looking for an opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality residential developments from land acquisition through to final adoption?
What You'll Be Doing
- Assess and appraise potential development opportunities, supporting land acquisition decisions.
- Lead engineering input throughout the planning and development process.
- Manage external engineering, planning and architectural consultants to ensure timely delivery of designs and technical information.
- Coordinate technical information across departments, ensuring projects remain on programme and within budget.
- Oversee utility appointments and infrastructure design approvals.
- Liaise with local authorities, statutory undertakers and regulatory bodies to secure approvals and resolve technical issues.
- Manage the adoption of roads, sewers and associated infrastructure.
- Oversee Building Control and warranty provider requirements.
- Support procurement activities by coordinating technical specialist suppliers and contractors.
- Produce status reports, risk assessments and engineering recommendations for senior management.
- Drive programme management and critical path activities to achieve key project milestones.
What We're Looking For
- A relevant engineering, technical or construction-related qualification, or significant industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of the residential development and housebuilding process.
- Experience managing engineering, technical or project teams within a development environment.
- A solid understanding of planning, infrastructure design and development procurement.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultants and stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify risks and opportunities.
- Knowledge of Section 38, Section 104 and development adoption processes.
- Awareness of NHBC, LABC and Secure By Design requirements.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
