Engineering Manager

Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with our client to recruit an Engineering Manager for a key leadership position within a busy operational environment. This is an opportunity to take ownership of engineering performance while helping to create safe, reliable and efficient plant operations.
You'll join a supportive organisation where engineering plays a central role in operational success. Combining hands-on technical understanding with people leadership, you'll have the scope to develop your team, strengthen maintenance practices and drive meaningful improvements across the site. You will be leading a multi-disciplined team of 4 Engineers.
The Opportunity
- Leading, supporting and developing the maintenance team, encouraging high standards and a positive approach to continuous improvement.
- Driving proactive and reactive maintenance practices, including accurate PPM schedules, to support safe, reliable plant performance.
- Maintaining compliance with HSE, EA, LOLER, Written Schemes of Examination and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Managing contractors effectively, including inductions, authorisations, risk assessments and Permits to Work.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, senior management, suppliers and other stakeholders to minimise downtime and support production.
- Your work will directly contribute to safer operations, stronger engineering performance and improved plant reliability while supporting environmental compliance and effective waste minimisation.
About You
- Proven management or supervisory experience within an engineering, maintenance or manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical knowledge combined with a proactive, safety-focused approach to engineering and maintenance.
- Effective organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to balance planned activity with changing operational demands.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, alongside an inclusive leadership style that supports team development.
- Ideally a minimum of HNC within Engineering, but time served candidates with good management or supervisory skills will be considered.
- This role would suit either an established Engineering Manager or an Engineering Team Leader/Supervisor who is ready for a step up.
Benefits and Package
- Salary of £48,000 - £52,000.
- Full-time, permanent employment.
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
