Job summary

WeDo is seeking a senior Delivery/Engineering leader to oversee one or two squads in the Servicing and Recovery division, collaborating with Product and Engineering. You will drive tech delivery of new features, engage in system design discussions, and manage performance, tech debt, and external AI tooling adoption.

The role requires hands-on architectural experience, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to operate in a hybrid London-based setup with 3 days in the Victoria office.

What does the client do?

FinTech/Series E funded - Unicorn Status.

Size/shape of team?

Circa 300 headcount in total. Close alignment between Product and Engineering. This particular squad sits amongst Onboarding, Fraud, FinCrime - specifically with a B2C, Customer focus.

The Stack?

Java/Spring Boot/AWS/K8s/Terraform/React-Native on the front-end. This is not a hands-on position. There is a significant focus on Tech Delivery of new features however so Architectural experience a nice to have.

The Role?

You will be inheriting one, potentially two squads. Each squad consisting of Product Manager, 4-6 devs and QA. Although not 100% determined, its likely you will be working in the Servicing and Recovery division which focuses on working with customers who are in a vulnerable position when it comes to repayments, Fraud etc.

The Stuff not on the JD?

Working heavily with internal tooling and driving execution. The client are likely to be working with external AI agents for the first time (previously all in house) also. Other metrics will be Speed and Predictability, People Management, Tech Debt Management. The ability to hold your own when it comes to System Design Architectural discussions necessary also.

Hybrid - London Victoria office - 3 days per week mandatory.

Up to £130k. 20-35% bonus + shares.
