Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated Engineering Lecturer to join a local college in Hull on a full-time basis. This role supports Level 2 and Level 3 Engineering courses, with some teaching at HND Level 4, and focuses on developing students' technical knowledge and practical engineering skills.

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess work, and maintain records, with a competitive pay rate of 25-40 per hour and 35 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience teaching, lecturing or training in engineering.
• Strong technical knowledge; able to teach Levels 2-3 and some HND Level 4.
• Excellent communication and classroom management.
• Understanding of health and safety in engineering workshops.
• Teaching qualification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Level 2 and Level 3 Engineering programmes, with some teaching at HND Level 4.
• Teach theoretical and practical engineering topics, ensuring students understand core principles.
• Prepare and deliver lesson plans, materials, assignments and practical activities meeting curriculum requirements.
• Assess students' work, provide feedback and monitor progress against learning objectives.
• Support students in developing practical skills, problem-solving and confidence in applying engineering principles.
• Maintain accurate attendance and progress records.
• Differentiate teaching approaches for learners with varying abilities.
• Promote safe working environment by following health and safety procedures.
• Support students in preparing for examinations, coursework deadlines and practical assessments.
• Contribute to curriculum development and stay updated on industry practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and progression.
