Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is recruiting an Engineering Lecturer to join a local college in Hull on a full-time basis. You will deliver Level 2 and Level 3 engineering courses with some HND Level 4 teaching, combining theory and practical work.

The ideal candidate will have Engineering qualifications, teaching experience, and a strong grasp of safety procedures in engineering workshops, enabling students to develop core competencies and progress confidently into further education or employment.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience teaching/lecturing in an engineering environment.
• Ability to teach Level 2/3 and some HND Level 4 engineering.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Level 2 and Level 3 Engineering programmes, with some teaching at HND Level 4.
• Teach both theoretical and practical engineering topics, ensuring students develop a strong understanding of core engineering principles.
• Prepare and deliver lesson plans, learning materials, assignments and practical activities that meet curriculum requirements.
• Assess students' work, provide constructive feedback and monitor progress against learning objectives.
• Support students in developing practical skills, problem-solving abilities and confidence in applying engineering principles.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment results and student progress.
• Differentiate teaching approaches to meet learners with varying abilities and learning styles.
• Promote a safe working environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are followed during practical sessions and workshop activities.
• Support students in preparing for examinations, coursework deadlines and practical assessments.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the engineering curriculum and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement, engagement and progression into further education or employment.
