Job summary

The City of Liverpool College is seeking a CBE/Engineering Lecturer to deliver practical and theoretical teaching across electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and design. You will teach Level 1–Level 5, including evening provision, and contribute to curriculum development within a committed engineering team in Liverpool.

Qualifications

  • Degree level relevant to the subject area.
  • Relevant vocational experience in Civil Engineering.
  • Recent experience of teaching and assessing on professional construction courses.
  • A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to complete.
  • Knowledge and understanding of professional construction provision.
  • Proven curriculum planning, development & delivery in professional construction.
  • Excellent computer literacy.
  • Engaged in continuing professional development.
  • Minimum of Level 3 literacy and numeracy or willingness to complete.
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to set high standards for students, colleagues and for themselves.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons.
  • Use effective teaching techniques to engage students.
  • Create a safe and motivating learning environment.

  • Provide a balance of teaching styles and learning experiences.
  • Understand assessment procedures and participate in implementation.

  • Contribute to curriculum design and development.
  • Support English and Maths skill development within the subject area.
  • Pursue professional development and training.
  • Engage with parents, carers and students at college events.
  • Ensure compliance with college policies.
  • Provide enrichment opportunities for students.
