Job summary

Preply is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead two high-performing teams at the London hub with a base in Cambridge, England. You will coach engineers, define the long-term strategy, and work with Product, Data, and Design to prioritise initiatives that boost subscriptions, bookings, and payments infrastructure.

You will own execution, ensure technical quality, and champion best practices while collaborating with stakeholders across the business to deliver impactful results.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience building, leading, and scaling development teams.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor, and grow engineers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow two high-performing engineering teams, fostering ownership and technical excellence.
• Coach engineers through regular feedback and career growth opportunities.
• Define and drive long-term vision and strategy for the teams in line with product direction.
• Identify and prioritise high-impact opportunities with Product, Data, and Design.
• Own execution and delivery, ensuring quality, reliability, and timely outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership on system design and architectural decisions.
• Champion engineering best practices, scalable processes, and evolving tech stack.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to amplify impact and align priorities.
