Job summary

CarbonChain is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead our UK-based engineering team as we scale. You’ll own technical direction, architecture, quality standards, and delivery processes while mentoring engineers and shaping a culture of ownership and customer focus.

You’ll partner with Founders, Product and Commercial teams to balance speed, reliability and long-term maintainability, and drive AI adoption across the engineering org to unlock high-value opportunities while safeguarding data

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading engineering teams in scaleups or SaaS.
• Strong foundation in web apps and distributed systems.
• Fluency in Python and TypeScript.
• Experience with AI adoption in engineering.
• Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and align with company goals.
• Steer architecture for scalable, auditable systems.
• Build and mentor engineering team; manage performance.
