Job summary

Gleeson Homes is seeking an Engineer to support the regional technical and operations teams across the East Midlands. The role focuses on feasibility studies, site viability reporting, and coordinating with consultants to meet regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification or strong civil/technical design experience, with knowledge of Highway Standards, NHBC/LABC requirements, and AutoCAD proficiency.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or strong experience in technical design or civil engineering.
• Knowledge of the house building industry engineering requirements and NHBC standards.
• Experience with Highway Design Standards, Sewers for adoption, Building Regulations, and British Standards.
• Strong financial/commercial awareness and good organisational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; adaptable to changing requirements.
• Awareness of NHBC, LABC and SBD Type approvals.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical/engineering support to land/development teams and lead in site viability reports.
• Identify the need for external consultants, agree fees, scope, timescales and deliverability.
• Manage relationships with consultants to ensure timely information flow and alignment with programme and NHBC standards.
• Consider commercial implications related to planning, design, civil and structural engineering and statutory services.
• Assist in tendering, setting up on-site management teams, and ensuring legal compliance across agreements.
• Coordinate with internal departments, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to achieve Building Regulations and warranty approvals.
• Prepare KPI status reports for the Technical function.
• Coordinate utilities design, quotes and required agreements.
• Lead Adoption process and site infrastructure approvals.
• Provide engineering support to site teams and internal departments.
• Lead on-site technical meetings for procurement and approval of site infrastructure.
