Job summary

The AI Security Institute is seeking an Engineering Lead to manage a growing team of engineers. You will oversee evaluations, data pipelines, and multi-agent studies, including finetuning LLMs and building RL environments.

This is a leadership role with close collaboration with HI leadership and stakeholders. Ideal candidates combine strong engineering delivery experience with a solid understanding of AI safety and how to guide research into production-ready systems and benchmarks.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a complex engineering or research project from scoping to deployment or publication.
• Understanding of AI safety literature and Human Influence topics.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience translating research questions into reproducible engineering tasks.
• Cloud deployments and databases (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).
• Writing scalable production Python code.
• Experience building or finetuning an ML model (LLM) with PyTorch/Keras/JAX.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from scoping to deployment or publication.
• Design scalable architecture for repeatable model evaluations and benchmarks.
• Build automated pipelines for human–AI experiments and participant recruitment.
• Develop a toolkit for multi-agent studies with performance guarantees.
• Deliver engineering-heavy research on Human Influence topics using large compute resources.
