Job summary

Schroders is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Lead for Data Technology Platforms in London. You will guide design, drive modernization, and mentor engineers across multiple teams, with a focus on scalable, secure software and robust data pipelines.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate outcomes into working software, shape engineering standards, and support the platform's evolution in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in at least one of C#/.Net, Python, Node.js and/or React.
• Understanding of engineering principles, architecture and scalable design.
• Experience with cloud-native development in Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with data platforms such as Snowflake and data pipelines.
• Proven ability to lead teams and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of applications using appropriate technologies for the problem space.
• Own and influence software delivery across design, development, testing, release and implementation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate features into working software.
• Prioritise backlogs with Delivery Leads and manage dependencies.
• Mentor engineers and support third-party partners; contribute to agile ceremonies.
• Maintain infrastructure as code to support CI/CD and consistent environments.
• Promote engineering quality and secure practices; ensure operational readiness.
• Balance near-term delivery with platform health and strategic direction.
