Job summary

Schroders is seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to guide multiple teams in delivering high‑quality software that is reliable, secure and scalable. You will design for future supportability, lead across asset management platforms, and mentor engineers while maintaining velocity under pressure.

You’ll collaborate with engineering leads to raise standards, reduce friction, and ensure robust CI/CD practices. Strong leadership and hands‑on engineering are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in at least one of C#/.Net, Python, Nodejs and/or React.
• Microsoft Azure experience with cloud-native application development, data services, security, monitoring and integration.
• Experience using Snowflake as a data platform, including data modelling, performance optimisation, security, ingestion and transformation patterns.
• Experience delivering software in an agile environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading the development of applications using appropriate technologies for the problem space.
• Owning and influencing software delivery across design, development, testing, release and implementation.
• Partnering with business stakeholders and analysts to translate outcomes and user stories into working, supportable software.
• Collaborating with Delivery Leads to prioritise backlogs, manage dependencies and address technical debt.
• Mentoring and coaching engineers (including third-party partners) and contributing to agile ceremonies.
