Job summary

Recruitment Co. is seeking an Engineering Lead to drive day-to-day performance of a hands-on engineering team in a busy production environment. You’ll influence maintenance strategy, mentor engineers and ensure high standards of reliability and safety.

You’ll combine practical engineering leadership with a proactive mindset, managing planned and reactive maintenance, coordinating contractors and delivering improvements that keep production moving smoothly.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in an engineering team with responsibility for delivery of maintenance.
• Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
• Solid understanding of preventative maintenance and equipment reliability.
• Ability to lead, support and develop other engineers.
• Proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Your Role

As Engineering Lead, you'll be the driving force behind the day-to-day performance of the engineering team.

You'll work closely with production and operations, ensuring equipment is maintained effectively, breakdowns are resolved efficiently and planned maintenance is delivered to a high standard.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a practical, approachable engineering professional who can combine strong technical ability with confident leadership.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience as an Engineering Team Leader, Maintenance Team Leader, Engineering Supervisor or a Senior Maintenance Engineer with leadership responsibilities.

• A Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

• Strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience.

• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

• Experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.

• A solid understanding of preventative maintenance and equipment reliability.

• The confidence to lead, support and develop other engineers.

• A proactive mindset and a genuine interest in continuous improvement.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who leads by example, takes pride in doing things properly and enjoys being part of a team that gets results.

Working Hours

Our client offers a structured 3-week rotating shift pattern, giving you regular days off during the working week.

• Four working days per week, with a rotating rest day on Monday, Wednesday or Friday.

• Core hours: 6:30am – 5:30pm.

• One weekend in four, working Saturday and Sunday.

• Weekend hours: 7:00am – 3:30pm.
