Job summary

J. Murphy & Sons Ltd is recruiting for a senior engineering leader to head design management on the Norwich to Tilbury scheme and the broader GGP. The role covers on/off-site leadership, QA/QC, document control and integration of SHES, quality, and GIS/BIM.

You will drive value engineering, lead design teams and external designers, manage risk, and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters while supporting bids and procurement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering functions in major UK infrastructure projects such as rail, highways, utilities or tunneling.
• Strong technical leadership with BIM knowledge and delivered projects.
• Ability to mentor others and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the engineering function, including design management, QA/QC, and document control, on and off site.
• Lead design management strategies and drive value engineering and innovation.
• Manage interactions with internal/external designers and supply chain partners.
