National Grid is seeking a Head of Engineering Design to lead a 90+ strong engineering team across Tipton, Castle Donington, Bristol and Cardiff. You will drive design quality, governance and delivery excellence for EHV substation projects, working with Major Projects and Policy teams to meet budget and schedule goals.

You will shape the future of NGED's design capability, embedding standardisation, outsourcing and automation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in electrical engineering design or a related discipline, including leadership of large technical teams.
• Proven ability to drive delivery performance, cost efficiency and change within complex projects.
• Strong leadership, coaching and accountability for team performance.

Responsabilités

• Lead, develop and inspire a team of 90+ engineering professionals across Tipton, Castle Donington, Bristol and Cardiff.
• Set objectives and performance metrics aligned with Major Projects and Primary Network Design.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality EHV substation, protection and control, civil and linear asset designs.
