Job summary

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience in satellite communications or related R&D sectors.
• 3+ years in senior engineering leadership managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proven track record delivering complex electronics products with embedded software, mechanical design, and RF engineering.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end satellite communication system architectures (GEO, MEO, LEO).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary engineering teams across Systems, Hardware, Digital, and Software disciplines.
• Own daily execution, engineering processes, capacity planning, and governance to ensure high-quality program delivery.
• Design and refine an engineering organizational structure that scales with company growth.
• Manage forecast loading vs. capacity to inform bids and hiring; oversee the engineering budget, including R&D allocation.
• Assist with major RFI/RFP bid responses and present technical updates in board/executive meetings.
• Support the complete systems engineering lifecycle from requirements gathering and design through test, production, and deployment.

Role Overview

As the Engineering Delivery Director, you will serve as a senior executive leader accountable for managing our multi-disciplinary engineering organization. You will translate strategic technical needs into effective structure, talent, and processes to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery across multiple simultaneous product development programs.

Working closely with the CTO, Chief Engineer, and Project Management teams, you will oversee product delivery lifecycles ranging from several weeks to 18+ months while embedding rigorous systems engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Leadership: Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary engineering teams across Systems, Hardware (RF, Mechanical, PCB ECAD), Digital, and Software disciplines.
• Delivery & Governance: Own daily execution, engineering processes, tools, capacity planning, and governance to ensure high-quality program delivery.
• Strategy & Scale: Design and refine an engineering organizational structure that scales with company growth.
• Resource & Budget Management: Manage forecast loading vs. capacity to inform bids and hiring; oversee the engineering budget, including capital expenditures and R&D allocation.
• Bid & Stakeholder Support: Assist with major RFI/RFP bid responses and present technical updates in board/executive meetings.
• Lifecycle Excellence: Support the complete systems engineering lifecycle from requirements gathering and design through to test, production, and deployment.

Key Requirements

• Experience: 10+ years of engineering experience in satellite communications or related R&D sectors.
• Leadership: 3+ years in senior engineering leadership managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• Product Delivery: Proven track record delivering complex electronics products involving embedded software, mechanical design, and RF engineering.
