Job summary

Safran UK in Wales seeks an Engineering Change Manager at our Cwmbran site to lead the engineering change control process across multidisciplinary teams for aircraft seating and components, ensuring schedule, cost and quality targets.

You will coordinate ECR evaluation, chair Change Control Board meetings, plan changes, and drive continuous improvement within a regulated aerospace environment, partnering with manufacturing, engineering and customers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management or related discipline.
• Experience managing product configuration and engineering change processes in a regulated environment.
• Working knowledge of PLM and ERP systems.
• CM2 Certification or equivalent knowledge of industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the organisation's Engineering Change Management Process, ensuring compliance with Group, Branch, and Local Business processes, as well as applicable standards.
• Coordinate the evaluation and implementation of engineering change requests (ECR), ensuring all impacts and ramifications are fully understood and documented.
• Serve as the key contact for the Change Control Board (CCB) and manage the end-to-end change request process, from initial review to final implementation and closure.
• Prepare and facilitate change review meetings, ensuring stakeholders have all necessary information for decision-making.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor change implementation activities, ensuring timely delivery and resource alignment.
• Champion continuous improvement in change processes, identifying and addressing inefficiencies and recurring issues.
• Support integration and improvement of PDM/PLM systems and tools within the change management framework.
• Interface and communicate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, programme management, customers, and other stakeholders to deliver robust change outcomes.
• Report on key performance indicators, progress against schedule, and share best practices and lessons learned across projects.

We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team as an Engineering Change Manager at our Cwmbran, South Wales site.

As an Engineering Change Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the engineering change control process across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that modifications to our products and processes meet the highest standards for schedule, cost, and quality. You will collaborate across departments and with stakeholders from customers to manufacturing, driving transparent and effective change management in the development of world-class aircraft seating and cabin products in partnership with the world's leading airlines and aircraft manufacturers.

Your Role

What You'll Bring

Essential:

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Experience managing product configuration and engineering change processes within a regulated environment.
• Working knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ERP business systems.
• Proven experience in configuration management, with strong organisational and planning skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and deliver on challenging deadlines.
• CM2 Certification or equivalent knowledge of industry standards.

Desirable:

• Experience within the aerospace, automotive, defence or similar industries.
• Knowledge of cross-business unit or product line change management.
• Experience supporting configuration audits and process improvement initiatives.
