Job summary

Coventry College is seeking an Engineering Assessor/Lecturer to deliver college-based and workplace engineering training across levels 1–3. You will assess on apprenticeships and teach practical and theoretical content, including topics such as Health & Safety in Engineering and CAD.

The role requires industrial experience and a commitment to professional development in teaching and assessment. Start date is as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Higher level engineering qualification or Level 3 technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience teaching, training, or assessing others in engineering
• Assessor or willingness to work towards assessor qualification with college support
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one with college support
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse groups of learners
• Good IT skills and experience using digital tools for teaching and assessment

Responsibilities

• Deliver workplace assessment for engineering apprentices and college-based delivery of practical and theoretical training across Mechanical Engineering (levels 1–3)
• Teach and assess across a broad range of subjects such as Health & Safety in Engineering, Engineering Mathematics and CAD
• Contribute to curriculum development and use of digital learning tools
• Support learners to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours required by modern engineering companies
