Job summary

The Manufacturing Technology Centre is seeking an Apprenticeship Skills Coach to support engineering and manufacturing apprentices. You will bridge classroom learning with workplace practice, guide learners and employers, and contribute to curriculum development focused on industry practice.

You will ensure compliance with safeguarding, funder rules, and progress reviews, while promoting safety, quality and continuous improvement across locations.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Engineering qualification is essential.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to gain is required.
  • Assessor qualification such as A1 or Level 3 Certificate in AoVA is essential.
  • Desirable: Level 2 English/Maths, QA qualifications, coaching qualification, and higher engineering qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of engineering and manufacturing apprentices.
  • Monitor health, safety and welfare of apprentices.
  • Provide end-to-end information, advice and guidance on skills and career development.
  • Record progress against the Standard and plan improvements with action plans.
  • Conduct progress reviews with apprentices and employers per funding rules.
  • Monitor off-the-job records and complete MIS documentation.
  • Plan and assess development competence qualifications and apprentice knowledge.
  • Use coaching methods with training centres and employers to develop skills.
  • Build relationships to ensure apprenticeship duration is met and reporting to Leadership Team.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to identify repeat and new business.
