Job description

This 4-year Engineering Apprenticeship Programme will see you based at our Bridgwater Müller Milk & Ingredients site. You'll be provided with a fantastic way to realise your potential and get your career off to the best possible start. You will study towards a recognised qualification, earn a good salary, develop new skills, and gain invaluable experience. Your key responsibilities as an Engineering Apprentice will include:

• Asset Management: keeping Manufacturing machinery maintained, managing processes, filling/packing, and site cleaning operations
• Involvement in Continuous Improvement projects, project management, or tests and trial activities
• Fault finding and quick action to meet food safety standards
• Being part of a team striving to achieve the highest quality products
• Highlighting concerns and ensuring products or volumes meet the agreed requirements and targets

This Apprenticeship combines technical training, academic study, and work-based learning, and covers all the fundamental Engineering topics you need to know, such as:

• Electrical principles and maintenance
• Mechanical maintenance to keep the factories running efficiently
• Automation

Minimum requirements include:

• National 5s at band C or above in English & Maths, plus a science/technical subject
• Able to demonstrate a clear passion for Engineering
• Great attention to detail
• Good time management skills
• Ability to analyse problems and suggest improvements or solutions
• Ability to take a proactive approach
• Ability to take ownership of own work
• Demonstrates a self-motivated and proactive approach to work and studies
• Ability to demonstrate good team working skills

• You'll need to be flexible with your hours of work upon completion of the apprenticeship including weekends and night shifts

Müller Milk & Ingredients focuses on continuous learning to develop, not only our business, but our people. And now we are recruiting Level 3 Engineering Apprentices! This programme is delivered in partnership with our training provider, Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC), where you'll spend 40 weeks of your first year with Müller at their state-of-the-art training facility. From years 2 - 4, you'll spend a combined 36 weeks with BTC, with the remainder of the time spent back at Bridgwater site to embed your learning with our team of Engineering experts, whilst continuing to work with our training provider partner to complete your apprenticeship.
