Job summary

Global Group is seeking an Engineering operative (level 2) apprentice in the United Kingdom. You will accompany experienced engineers to customer sites to draw thermal fluid samples, survey systems and assist with fluid management tasks across multiple technologies.

This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience with Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group, with at least 20% of working hours spent training or studying.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above required.
• Willing to learn through an apprenticeship and on‑the‑job training.
• Interest in thermal fluids and engineering processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with flushing and disposal of thermal fluids.
• Support risk assessments and method statements.
• Follow health and safety rules and site inductions.
• Assist analysis of heat transfer systems and fluid performance.
• Support development of processes, specs, testing and surveys.

Job description

Engineering operative (level 2)
40 hours over 5 days, working hours will vary to suit business needs. Shifts to be confirmed.

40 hours a week

The Role

As part of this role you will be accompanying our experienced engineers to visit customer sites to; draw thermal fluid samples, survey systems, report on system components and undertake thermal fluid management tasks using a range of portable and fixed technologies. Could lead to a permanent position for the right individual.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands‑on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

As an engineering apprentice you will:

• Support thermal fluid system flushing, fluid change out, removal and disposal
• Production and amendment of risk assessments and method statements
• Complying with all relevant legislation, attending site inductions, and completing relevant training as required
• Analysis of heat transfer systems and thermal fluid performance
• Provide support in creating and maintaining processes, product specifications, testing and surveys
• Answer technology questions and solve thermal fluid and heat transfer system production problems
• Working to approved methodologies to support our ISO 9001 and ISO14001 accreditation
• Contribute to service developments that fulfil market requirements regarding performance and quality improvement and cost reduction

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
