37.5 hours per week Mon-Thursday (07.00 - 15.30) with 30 minutes for lunch. Friday (07.00 - 12.30).
Total hours per week: 37.5 hours a week.
During the apprenticeship, you will become proficient in reading and interpreting CAD drawings, planning your work with the right tools, equipment and resources to complete the task. You will develop your problem-solving and fault diagnosis skills while adhering to high quality and health and safety standards.
Upon completion of the Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship, the successful candidate will provide necessary technical expertise and support in relation to the assembly of control system activities, while meeting agreed production quantity and quality targets safely.

You will possess a positive attitude towards self-development both practically and academically, the ability to work within a small supportive team, be conscientious, with good timekeeping skills, and have a desire to achieve high standards of customer satisfaction.
As the role progresses, you will become involved in testing, use of power tools, and have the opportunity to assist on customer sites around the UK with installation and commissioning.
You will be trained to read and interpret engineering data, worksheets, and drawings, in addition to working with documentation such as method statements and HS&E requirements to ensure safe systems of work.
Throughout your role, you will interact with all levels of staff from management, engineering, finance, and admin to shop floor, allowing you to build your confidence and understanding of how a business operates.
Training will be delivered one day per week during term time at The Highfield site, with facilities designed to enrich the student experience, developing them with necessary skills using industry-recognized equipment to ensure the apprentice receives training closely matched to the employer’s needs and industry standards.
Initially working as an apprentice, you will learn skills in our workshop and at College. Following successful completion of the apprenticeship, there could be opportunities to gain further qualifications in a supportive environment.
Further qualifications will depend on the route both the candidate and the business envision for their career. Once the apprentice becomes experienced in the role, they will have the opportunity to work alongside qualified engineers in onsite installation and commissioning. Career progression into hardware and software engineering could also be a possibility, if desired.
