Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced software leader to own the engineering analysis software strategy and drive technical leadership across projects. You will guide governance, quality assurance and collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver robust solutions.

You will mentor engineers, align with AI and digital initiatives, and contribute to the broader digital transformation programme while ensuring compliance with BPSS and DBS requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered status or working toward chartership.
• BPSS clearance required.
• DBS check completed.
• Financial probity check completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for software supporting engineering analysis.
• Create and own the vision for software benefits across workflows.
• Define strategy for robust, efficient software with QA.
• Act as technical authority for analysis-related software, internally or with suppliers.
• Lead a small team of software engineers on cross-disciplinary projects.
• Develop tools, processes and guidance for high-quality engineering software.
• Identify efficiency and quality improvement opportunities and lead initiatives.
• Coach, mentor and train engineers developing software solutions.
• Work with DigIT on tools, platforms and digital transformation.
• Support solving complex problems across analysis domains.
• Engage with external suppliers and industry forums.
