Job summary

Mitie is seeking an ambitious Engineer for its Technology Projects division to support UK utility clients on security and access control projects. The role is field-based nationwide, with travel and away-from-home commitments as required.

You will diagnose faults across CCTV, access control, perimeter and intruder systems, install bespoke solutions, and conduct preventive maintenance while coordinating with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Understanding of at least one discipline: Access Control, CCTV, Intruder or Powerfence.
• Experience with Gallagher Security Systems (Access Control or Perimeter).
• Able to work independently and in a team with good planning.

Responsibilities

• Fault diagnosis on Electrical Fence, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarms systems.
• Installation of bespoke security systems.
• Planned preventive maintenance on bespoke security systems.
• Detecting and reporting defects, snags and complaints.
• Stock management for van stock and replenishment.
• Demonstration to clients and end users of completed systems.
• Arranging PAT and Meter Calibrations for company issued equipment.
• Asset tagging and information registration.
• Data recording and email communication is required.

Essential Competencies

Role & Responsibilities

• Fault diagnosis on Electrical Fence, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarms systems
• Installation of bespoke security systems
• Planned preventive maintenances on bespoke security systems
• Detecting and reporting defects, snags and complaints
• Responsibility for Van Stock / Replenishment and Stock Taking
• Competency in problem solving and an ability to make diligent recommendations
• Demonstration to Clients and End Users of completed systems or individual work(s)
• Arranging PAT and Meter Calibrations for company issued equipment
• Completion of Asset Tagging and Registration of Information
• Candidates must be PC and IT literate as recording of data and email are an important job requirement
