Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking a site-based supervisor to oversee contracts, coordinate installations, and manage site teams across projects. You will liaise with clients and ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery of works.

The role requires CSCS/SMSTS certification and strong knowledge of fences, gates, and access control, with a focus on cost efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications

• Supervise contracts at site level.
• Hold relevant FISS/CSCS certificates.
• CITB SMSTS certification desirable.
• Good knowledge of fence types, access control systems and gate automation.
• Fabrication knowledge related to fences and gates.
• Experience in man management and sub-contractor oversight.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installations as directed by Contracts Director/Manager.
• Supervise contracts at site level and assist with management.
• Maintain client contact for contract direction.
• Set up sites and liaise with site staff.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
• Ensure site health and safety compliance.
• Oversee quality control and test documents per schedule.
• Promote sustainability and waste reduction practices.
• Ensure all operatives are qualified and licensed where required.

Essential Competencies

• To be able to supervise contracts at site level

• To have a working knowledge of gate automation

Role & Responsibilities

• Assist with installations when required – Instructed by Contracts Director/ Manager
• Supervise contracts at site level and assist with management

• Ensure quality control and test inspection documents for the project are completed as per planned timescales.
• For promoting good practice of material sustainability (Reuse and/or Recycle) initiatives to reduce waste and save costs.
• Ensuring that where applicable, contractor's operatives are competent, qualified and licensed to undertake their work activities correctly and that all plant and equipment used is tested, maintained and certified as specified
• Ensuring all necessary checks to ensure that installed services and equipment complies with the contract documentation
• Monitor the recording and reporting all defective materials and substandard quality/workmanship standards that do not meet the works specification/s
• Determine and assess the need for additional staff and resources
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify project risks and devise contingency plans
• Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
