How You'll Help Us Connect The World:

The RF/Electrical Design Engineer will be a member of our RF Engineering team based out of our Kirkcaldy site in Fife. You will be responsible for the development of new designs and cost optimisation of the existing products for local manufacture. Candidates must be able to provide real time solutions to design issues discovered in the manufacturing process and recommend/document the resolution. Also, must be knowledgeable in manufacturing processes and technologies to support factory and part evaluations.

We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Kirkcaldy, UK.

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform design, development, analysis, test, and documentation of electronic designs for the Outdoor Wireless Networks Division.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Design, development, evaluation, and analysis of new or updated products or components.
  • Projects may include microprocessor design, motor controller and positioning design, RF front end, power amplifiers, power supplies, mod/demod, splitter/combiners, filters, and other digital or analog electronics design tasks.
  • Act as a key contributor and/or technical leader within a project team. May direct or coordinate work of drafters, technicians, and other personnel.
  • Interface with software, mechanical, reliability, and test engineers during requirement, design, development, pilot, and hand off to production.
  • Provide support to software, mechanical, test, production, and field engineers.
  • Produce product functional requirements, test requirements, design, and interface documents as needed through the product life-cycle.

Accountability / Impact of Job:

  • Accountable for developing global telecommunication Microwave Antenna products used by a wide variety of customers.
  • Project work is reviewed at appropriate milestones to ensure the overall objectives are being met.
  • Business unit performance metrics include adherence to committed project schedules and achieving annual cost savings objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering required with 5 to 8+ years of relevant experience or a completed Master's Degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering with 3 to 5+ years of relevant education and experience.
  • Proven working experience in both digital and analog circuit design and development.
  • Experience in development and troubleshooting of embedded microprocessor and/or microcontroller systems.
  • Experience with communication interfaces such as I2C, SPI, Ethernet, serial, etc.
  • Knowledge of EMI and surge protection design techniques for outside plant equipment.
  • Knowledge of Mentor schematic capture and PADS PCB layout tools is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Must have expertise in analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally on an as-needed basis.
