We are seeking a motivated and skilled Full Stack Engineer Mid-Level with a strong passion for user experience and product development to join our Organic Growth Product Squad.

You would be working within our Growth Product Engineering squad, which is focused on driving organic growth through Technical SEO and user-experience optimisations, with direct impact on top-line business KPIs. Our engineering team is growing, and you'll be part of a supportive environment that values learning and development.

As a Full Stack Engineer in our team, you’ll have a direct impact on top-line business KPIs, by contributing to the points listed in the responsibilities below.

Responsibilities

• Develop new landing routes and product features that connect new pet owners with house sitters across the globe.
• Achieve a step change in search engine visibility by optimising our core web vitals, implementing tooling to detect/fix regressions earlier, and other technical improvements.
• Elevate our developer’s experience by migrating our product pages to Next.js, empowering faster delivery of innovative product features with less custom code.

In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of features, from conceptualisation through to deployment and iteration. Your day-to-day activities will involve:

• Developing, testing, and deploying robust, scalable, and moderately complex full-stack features with a focus on user experience, leveraging technologies like React and Next.js, and backend work primarily in Python.
• Collaborating closely with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and fellow Engineers to define feature specifications.
• Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, and participating actively in code reviews.
• Contributing to technical discussions and decisions, helping to shape the future of our platform.
• Troubleshooting and resolving regressions, ensuring the reliability and performance of our applications.
• Continuously seeking opportunities to improve user experience, developer experience, and platform performance.

Requirements

• Great understanding of fundamental web development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience developing and maintaining APIs using Python or comparable technologies.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, React, and a willingness to learn Next.js.
• Understanding of user-centred design principles and UX methodologies.
• Experience collaborating with product managers and designers.
• Ability to translate designs into code

Nice to have ( But not essential)

• Experience with Next.js for building performant React websites, proficiency in Django for backend development
• Strong understanding of UX principles

£55,000 - £65,000 a year
