Job Description
The Systems Integration organization supports the development and implementation of Combat Systems (CS) Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and has technical responsibility for supporting Combat Systems Integration on the DDG 51 Program.
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide technical leadership for all assigned systems and related tasks.
- Develop & maintain Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models using CAMEO software for assigned systems.
- Participate in and/or lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in early development of ship design.
- Act as Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) for significant CS changes.
- Interface with the Navy, Navy Contractors, Functional Engineering, Class Design, BIW, and HII Follow Yard Services to resolve technical issues.
- Develop and process Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) in accordance with schedule constraints.
- Ensure all developed ECPs meet applicable functional engineering and Navy specification requirements.
- Provide technical support to Operations for resolving issues.
- Support Planning in developing accurate implementation plans.
- Assist Estimating in developing accurate cost estimates.
- Develop and deliver presentations to management and Navy personnel.
- Develop ROM estimates for emergent CS Engineering work.
- Participate in and/or lead off-site meetings and events occasionally.
- Head up special projects as assigned.
Required/Preferred Education/Training
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Required).
- Engineer II / C Band - 1+ years’ experience (Required).
- Engineer III / D Band - 3+ years’ experience (Required).
Required/Preferred Experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize, plan, and execute projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Highly motivated, with strong attention to detail and proven ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in WINDOWS, WINDOWS software, and MS Office products is required.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel is required.
- Ability to solve and explain complex technical issues.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and see tasks through to completion.
- Familiarity with Requirements Definition.
- Experience with Naval Ship Topside and Combat System Design.
- CAMEO / MBSE skills are desired.
- SECRET clearance or ability to obtain SECRET clearance.
