Job summary

Dunbia Group in Hatherleigh is seeking an Engineer with an electrical bias to support production and site operations. The role offers an hourly rate of £17.93–£20.95 (pre‑overtime), with a 40‑hour week and a Monday–Friday shift.

You will ensure plant equipment operates reliably, contribute to maintenance and continuous improvements, and have opportunities for training. Experience in food manufacturing and working at height are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Electrical and mechanical knowledge required for daily plant maintenance.
• Experience with stainless steel fabrication is advantageous.
• Ability to work at height and in a food production environment.
• Strong organisational and communication skills; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring plant equipment is operating and functioning correctly
• Maintaining equipment on a daily basis to ensure it is fit for its intended purpose
• Assisting production with machinery problems and setups, providing relevant training when appropriate
• Completing daily maintenance check sheets and job cards
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines
• Continually developing to improve operations to drive improvements in quality, cost and safety.

Job description

We have an opportunity to join the Engineering team at West Devon in Hatherleigh. We are looking for a skilled Engineer with electrical bias to support the production and site. Hourly salary between £17.93-£20.95 (pre overtime)
Currently the shift is operating from Monday to Friday, 0600 - 1500 based on a 40-hour working week. The Engineers are on a grading system which is skill dependant and will be discussed upon inquiry.
20 days basic holiday entitlement + the 8 bank holidays
Dunbia use NEST as the pension provider with auto enrolment at the 3-month point.
Overtime is payable after 40 hours at a premium rate.
There is a call out rota which is generally one week in 4. This is paid at a premium rate.
We offer additional training to support Engineers in developing their skill set.
