Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician for a 12-month contract at a state-of-the-art engine test facility in Peterborough. You will support high-precision data output and maintain, install, and upgrade complex test facility systems.

The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, fault-finding, TPMs, and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams. Applicants should have an engineering apprenticeship or NVQ3, with strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and

Qualifications

Completed full engineering indentured apprenticeship, OR NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline, OR substantial, hands-on job experience.
Broad knowledge of maintenance processes, machine shop operations, equipment, tools, materials, and quality objectives.
Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

Breakdown & repair: respond to testbed and facility breakdowns using fault-finding techniques.
Maintenance & installation: conduct planned, preventive (TPM), and corrective maintenance, and install new facility equipment.
Standard work: follow documented standard procedures using hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment.
Continuous improvement: run improvement and root-cause investigations and present findings to the wider team.
Team development: train, mentor, and support apprentices and co-workers.
Workplace standards: maintain a clean, safe, organized working environment following 5S principles and safety standards.
