Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Performance & Environmental Protection Engineer to design, simulate and verify engine performance at the whole-system level. The role involves developing models from first principles, 1D thermodynamic simulation, and cross-discipline analysis.

You will gather requirements and manage interfaces across sub-systems and stakeholders. The successful candidate will contribute to data-driven decision making within Rolls-Royce's Global Mechanical Systems Capability, working with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Master's in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification.
• Strong technical knowledge in thermodynamics and engine performance.
• Understanding of cross-disciplinary engineering concepts including aerodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis.
• Knowledge and experience in modelling and code development (Matlab, Python, Databricks).
• Chartered status in the UK preferred or working towards it.
• Good communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Own the definition of the product thermodynamic cycle.
• Provide prediction and analysis of product attributes at the whole system/platform level.
• Gather, manage and disseminate requirements from/to a range of internal and external customers.
• Provide data to sub-systems for product design and development.
• Define and manage system and product interfaces.
• Provide insight into product/aircraft interaction.
• Provide insight and analysis of real-world operation and customer usage.
• Manage relationships with internal and external customers.
