Job summary

Pikes Peak Post Acute is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in delivering a creative, interactive activities program tailored to meet the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of residents. You will help plan single and group activities and coordinate calendars and attendance.

The role emphasizes communication with residents, families, staff and external agencies, with duties including arranging transportation and assisting with discharge planning as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in communication between residents, staff and families.
• Maintain monthly activity calendar and attendance records.
• Arrange transportation for residents.
• Keep Activity Department clean, orderly and secure.
